Rolled the rear wheel arches today

Added on by Chris Quill.

I got some new Yokohama tires from Discount tires - very nice tires! I also went up a size as the old 215/40/17s were just too low profile. I had hit a couple of curbs and pinched the tires. I eventually developed a leak and needed a patch. The tires were on the wear bars and I just decided to replace them. The 225/45/17s aren't much larger - but are large enough. I ended up rolling the arch lips to prevent them from cutting the tires. With that size, there are a ton of tires to choose from

The tires scrub on almost every bump.

You have to jack the tire up off the ground and then roll the pipe between the tire and the lip.

Don't worry, it doesn't damage your tire.

Done! Tons of clearance. No rubbing under any circumstance.

No more scrubbing tires. It is important to note that the piece of pipe that I used is very heavy wall. If you try this with a piece of exhaust tubing, it will just get crushed.
